Annual Awards Show
In November of each year, the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame honors the musicians, promoters and the music itself with the Annual Achievement Awards. There are ten categories in all ranging from Support and Promotion to Band of the Year. The Annual Awards Show is held in conjunction with the Thanksgiving Celebration each year showcasing some of the best bands in the area and from around the country. The Awards show is broadcast throughout the year on local cable channels.
Awards Show XX marks the 20th anniversary of the Polka Hall of Fame and Museum, which was established to promote and preserve the unique sound of the Cleveland style polka music. The Polka Hall of Fame is located at 605 East 222nd Street, Euclid.
The Awards Show took place at 2 p.m., November 24. A 'Meet the Winners Dance,' the same night, was held at the Marriott Center Hotel, downtown Cleveland.
The events were part of Tony Petkovsek’s Thanksgiving Polka Party, taking place Thursday and Friday, November 22 and 23, at the Marriott Hotel.
