Mullec, Frankie

According to Billboard Magazine, Frankie Mullec was "one of the acknowledgeed masters in the field." Performing from age ten, Frankie played in the Slovenian Villiage at the Great Lakes Exposition in 1936, formed his own band the next year, and entertained our troops in the South Pacific during World War II. The Frankie Mullec Orchestra made its mark after the war recording for Continental. appearing on radio and television, and performing at top dance spots throughout Cleveland, Pemmsylvania and the Midwest. Frankiwes composition, "Tell Me a Story," sold more than a quarter million copies in 1950 and was followed by other hits, including "The Cleveland Polka" and "There Was a Time." The Mullec Orchestra was regularly featured at Frankiw Mullec's Lounge Bar during the 1950s and Frank continued his career as a soloist through the 1970s.
