Sinchak, Del

Bandleader, Record Producer and Accordionist (1935)

Del Sinchak was a teen polka bandleader, in 1948. When rock and roll emerged in the 1950s, he switched to the music of the era with Del Saint and the Devils. As the back-up group for the Edsels, he played on their Top 10 hit, "Ram A Lama Ding Dong." He has been president of the Penn-Ohio Polka Pals for 25 years, and is president of the American Federation of Musicians in Youngstown. Del has a weekly radio show on WKTX, Cortland, Ohio. As marketing director of Peppermint Records, he has found time to have the Del Sinchak orchestra record five albums, one of which "Let the Sunshine In" was nominated for a Grammy in 1999. His composition, "Roseann" polka has been nominated for a Greatest All-Time Hit Polka.
